I was presenting at Young Authors Conferences all last week, and the kids did a great job. We wrote praise poems, and I'll share more about the process next week. But for today, I wanted to share one sample. Elijah, a 6th grader, wrote this ode to the Vietnamese soup pho (I can't do the little accent thingie). One option was to really exaggerate and go overboard, and he did a great job!
