This Week's Photo

 

Minnesota is ablaze with maples, sumacs, and birches showing off their autumn finery. I enjoy looking out at a sea of trees all in bright colors, but I also like to find trees that are mid-transformation. Sometimes I'll see funny designs where half a tree is green and the other half is basically purple or red. Recently I even saw a tree that just had one green stripe kind of down the middle!

What does this tree make you think of? Campfires? Your backyard? Playing in the woods? A big change you're in the middle of? 

Write your own 15 Words or Less poem! Your poem doesn't have to describe the tree if you don't want to. It can be about anything the tree makes you think of. There's no wrong answer! See the sidebar links for guidelines and previous examples if you're new to this. Have fun! 

P.S. Does anyone know why LiveJournal is downsizing all images? I wanted this to be 400 pixels wide, made it that way in Photoshop and compressed it for the web. But LJ made it 180 wide, and if I enlarge it inside LJ, it gets all grainy and pixelated.
